CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Journal of Folklore Research Submit by June 1, 2015

The Journal of Folklore Research invites submissions for a special issue devoted to medieval and early modern folklore and culture, tentatively scheduled for publication in 2016. We welcome submission of papers that deal with any aspect of this period, on material from any geographic area. Contributions that situate medieval and early modern culture within contemporary theoretical debates or engage with problems of methodology and interpretation are especially desired. All submissions should be informed by and engage with contemporary scholarship in folkloristics.

Please submit manuscripts to the journal website (http://www.jfr.indiana.edu) by June 1, 2015. Please be sure to note that your submission is for consideration for this special issue. All submissions will undergo double-blind peer review. Questions regarding the issue or submission process may be directed to Steve Stanzak, Managing Editor, at jfrmgr@indiana.edu.

The Journal of Folklore Research is an international forum for current theory and research among scholars of traditional culture. Its pages include incisive examinations of vernacular or traditional expressive forms, as well as essays that address the fieldwork experience and the intellectual history of folklore and ethnomusicology studies. It is published triannually by Indiana University Press.
